Essential Skills for Business Analysts Training Courses "You have two ears and one mouth and you should use them in that proportion" Essentials Skills for Business Analysts - Intended Audience These separate one-day courses cover some of the essentials skills required by Business Analysts but which are not covered within any of our other business analysis training courses. All courses can be attended by business analysts or other change management professionals of any level of experience. - Conflict Resolution - Strategic Thinking - Workshop Facilitation - Stakeholder Management Each course is briefly outlined below: Conflict Resolution This course is for anyone who wants to be able to deal more effectively with conflict that can arise as part of working life. By the end of the course each delegate will have gained a better understanding of how and when conflict arises, their preferred way of dealing with it, and some useful tips on how to manage conflict more effectively. They will also have begun to explore the power of emotional intelligence and the importance of managing relationships in the correct way. Strategic Thinking This course is ideal for people who need or want to become ‘bigger picture’ thinkers in relation to the role they do. Often companies are very operational or task focused and employees lose sight of the part they play in delivering the company goals. This course examines how each delegate can take away some practical tools to help them do this. By the end of the course each delegate will have gained a better understanding of their company goals and objectives and how they can contribute to them. They will have practical advice on how to view their role from a more strategic perspective. Workshop Facilitation This course is for anyone who is regularly involved in participating or running facilitated workshops as part of their role. By the end of the course each delegate will be able to effectively prepare, facilitate and complete a workshop. They will have gained a greater understanding of how to deal with difficult situations in workshops and some of the most common mistakes made. They will also be able to set measurable and clear objectives and arrive at tangible outcomes. Stakeholder Management This course is ideal for anyone who wants to improve their skills in dealing with Stakeholders on a regular basis. We look at the definition of a stakeholder and examine the influence they have to make positive or negative contributions. We discuss how to begin to build intelligence about each stakeholder and record this information. We examine how this can be built into a strategy for each stakeholder and a tangible plan of action. We introduce the various techniques used to better understand ‘people styles’. We explore some useful negotiating and influencing skills and allow the delegates to practice some of the skills in role play. Course Schedule These courses are not currently available as public courses but we can arrange on-site courses to be held for companies with 4 or more delegates.
