Our BCS Benefits Management and Business Acceptance training course and exam is available to be delivered on-site at your organisation at a time to suit you.
This 3 day course is concerned with the delivery of successful software solutions, including the acceptance and implementation of a software solution, plus a rigorous approach to Benefits Management. The two key elements to the syllabus are Benefits Management. (75%) and Acceptance testing (25%). Candidates will gain a broad knowledge of each of these elements.
This course is aimed at individuals who would like to achieve the BCS Certificate in Benefits Managements and Business Acceptance, a practitioner specialism module required for the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis.
This course will benefit those who want to gain knowledge of carrying out tasks relating to benefits management and business acceptance testing. It is an alternative Practitioner-specialism module for the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis for those who do not wish to take Modelling Business Processes.
Holders of the BCS Certificate in Benefits Managements and Business Acceptance should be able to carry out the following tasks:
- Describe the contents of a business case
- Explain the importance of the alignment between the business strategy and the business case
- Describe at least four distinct categories of benefits
- Describe potential roles in benefits management
- Develop a benefits dependency network
- Undertake an investment appraisal
- Describe a benefits management process
- Define a framework for effective acceptance testing
- Develop appropriate acceptance testing scenario test specifications
- Define prerequisites to acceptance testing
The course is highly interactive and delegates are encouraged to learn through group exercises including a case study as well as exam-based exercises.
The BCS exam in Benefits Managements and Business Acceptance is taken on the last afternoon of the course.
As this is an exam-based course, attendees may be asked to complete around 1 hour of homework each evening.

BCS Examination Details
The BCS exam in Benefits Managements and Business Acceptance is taken on the afternoon of the last day of this course. The format for the examination is a one hour written open book examination based on a business scenario with 15 minutes reading time.
Candidates must achieve 50% to be awarded a pass grade.
Candidates who are awarded a pass for the examination are awarded the BCS Certificate in Benefits Managements and Business Acceptance.
The duration of this course is three days. Courses run daily from 9.00 am until 5.30 pm. During the last 1 hour 15 minutes of the course candidates sit their BCS exam in Benefits Management and Business Acceptance.
